The following is a recipe for spinach alfredo pizza:
- 1 cup alfredo sauce (any kind is fine, store-bought or homemade)
- 1 package of chopped spinach, thawed, or about 30 spinach leaves
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 can of pizza dough, such as Pillsbury’s pizza crust
- 1 lb chicken tenders, uncooked (optional)
- 1 tomato, sliced (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomato chunks (optional)
- 1 tablespoon pesto sauce (optional)
- chicken seasonings (garlic salt, chicken rub, oregano, basil…)
- Flatten and spread pizza dough to the desired thickness on a greased cookie sheet or pan. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- If using chicken tenders, cut them into bits and sauté them in a pan with seasonings until they are done. Set aside after removing from the pan.
- If you’re using spinach leaves, cut them into little pieces. Then, in a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach (fresh or frozen), alfredo sauce, and pesto (if using), and evenly spread over the dough, leaving some room around the border for the crust.
- If using, place the tomato slices over the sauce on top of the crust, along with the sliced or diced mushrooms and sun-dried tomato pieces. Sprinkle the cooked chicken chunks on top of the tomato and mushroom.
- The pizza is now ready to cook after the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese is sprinkled over it.
- Bake the pizza for about ten minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the crust has solidified, at 425°F. Remove from the oven, cut into slices, and serve!
